to Employers
Individuals with little or no employment
history participate in assessments to assist them to determine
their interests, abilities and readiness to work. Assessments
take place at various community based work sites. Contact

Participants receive hands-on training in janitorial work
skills, learn resume writing and job-seeking skills in this
eight-week program. In Detroit & Wayne County, contact

For individuals who desire one-on-one guidance during their
job search process, Supported Job Search provides individualized
job search skills training and assistance, as well as job

The JVS Job Coach goes to the job site to learn the job, break
it down into easy to learn steps and then provides training
and support to help people achieve success in their working

Provides on-site employment retention services to participants
with various disabilities who are employed for up to one year.

In cooperation with various area school districts and employers,
JVS designs on-the-job training to help students compete for
specific,skilled jobs following high school graduation. A
Job Coach is on site at all times and students develop valuable
work experience in the field of their choice. Contact

The JVS Classroom Curriculum is
individually designed to meet the needs of participating school,
and can include personal exploration, career exploration,
empowerment skills training, social skills training, team
building, and employability skills training.
Job Shadowing helps students with disabilities explore their
vocational interests by observing actual jobs at various community-based
