Work Options Reentry Center (WORC)
JVS was awarded a grant from the Department of Corrections Michigan Prisoner Reentry Initiative (MPRI) for the Work Options Reentry Center (WORC). Operated out of the Arnold E. Frank Building, WORC will provide an employment-centered model that successfully reintegrates parolees and ex-offenders into the community by assisting them in obtaining the skills and support necessary to enter and compete in the workforce. WORC is designed to reduce recidivism and increase employment opportunities of parolees and ex-offenders by personally engaging them in an intensive orientation and reentry process with the MPRI Transition Team.

Partnership with COTS
JVS and the Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS) work together to combat homelessness by focusing the resourced and expertise of each Agency on mutual customers, coordinating resources and working together to remove barriers and provide supports. JVS helps individuals address obstacles to employment that include limited job skills and experience and lack of knowledge about how to launch a successful job search. COTS provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and permanent housing support.
