ANNOUNCEMENT OF STAFF OPENING

FOR

TRANSPORTER (Part Time)

JVS announces a staff opening for a part-time (20 hours per week) Transporter in its Community Based Services department at the Rose & Sidney Diem building located in Southfield.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency required. Valid Michigan driver’s license, six months to one year related driving experience, and chauffeur’s license required. Reasoning and language skills as measured by Agency norm tests. Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with customers, public and staff. Previous experience driving vans. Driving record must be sufficient to meet safe driving standards as established by Agency insurance carrier.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.

Transport consumers to various job sites in Tri-County  region.

2.

Follow assigned schedules on a timely basis.

3.

Complete documentation related to van logs, incident reports, etc.

4.

Perform scheduling functions as back up for the scheduler for transport only.

5. Obtain mail from the mail tray in the Job Coach office organized by site. Deliver to assigned Job Site. Pick up mail from assigned Job Site and deliver back to JVS including distribution into the appropriate mail boxes.

6. Serve on Agency committee(s) as appointed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Ability to stoop and bend to file records.

2. Work involves the ability to work flexible hours traveling to local sites using own vehicle or Agency van.

SALARY AND RELATED:

Based on 20 hours per week, depending on experience and training, salary range is $7,748 - $15,704. Benefits include a Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO or HMO for individual coverage. Family coverage is available under a premium-sharing plan. Option is available to substitute $1,560 per year in lieu of health insurance. Other benefits include vacation, sick leave, life insurance, long-term disability, and retirement when eligibility requirements are met.
