ANNOUNCEMENT OF STAFF OPENING

FOR

SUPERVISOR, ADULT DAY PROGRAM

JVS announces a staff opening for a full-time Supervisor, Adult Day Program in its Adult Day Program department located in Southfield.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.  Associates degree or equivalent in Special Education, Psychology, Industrial Engineering or related field required. Two years related contract procurement work experience with individuals with developmental, physical and/or emotional impairments required. Knowledge of behavior modification techniques, task analysis, sign language and production methods preferred.  Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with participants, public and staff. Math, composition and reasoning skills sufficient to perform essential functions. Driving record must meet safe driving standards as established by Agency insurance carrier. Valid Michigan driver’s license.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.

Recruit, train, and supervise designated staff. Provide necessary feedback to staff and complete written performance appraisals as required.

2.

Monitor training staffs’ development, modification, and implementation of participant training and behavior programs.

3.

Monitor and train staff to ensure that:

a) Work distribution is appropriate to accommodate individual participant disabilities.
b) Methods for increasing work productivity and overall efficiency of the workshop are appropriately implemented.
 

4.

Oversee Agency and funding source training including but not limited to CPI, Cultural Competency, ESL and HIPPA.

5.

Fill in for Work Activities staff as needed to maintain programmatic ratios, production flow, and documentation requirements.

6.

Assist with conducting of time studies, contract bidding and participant wage rate setting in compliance with Department of Labor and CARF regulations within established time frames.
 

7.

 Serve on Agency committee(s) as appointed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1.

Work involves physical assistance (i.e., transfers and mobility) of participants with weights averaging 150 pounds.
 
2. Work involves lifting, pulling, pushing and transporting work materials with weights up to 35 pounds between above shoulder and ground level.

EXEMPT STATUS:

This position is exempt from the overtime pay provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Act.

SALARY AND RELATED:

Salary based on experience. Benefits include a Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO or HMO for individual coverage. Family coverage is available under a premium-sharing plan. Option is available to substitute $1,560 per year in lieu of health insurance. Other benefits include vacation, sick leave, life insurance, long-term disability, and retirement when eligibility requirements are met.
