Administrative Secretary

HR Solutions Group, a subsidiary of JVS announces a staff opening for a full-time (40 hour per week) Administrative Secretary for Detroit Recovery Project located in Detroit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma required. Ability to type 30 - 35 wpm required. At least two to three years experience working with the substance abusing/recovery community and for HIV/AIDS positive people. Knowledge of community based resources preferred. Knowledge of word processing, data base, and spreadsheet software for use on personal computers required. Reasoning, math, and language skills as measured by Agency norm tests. Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with client, public, employers and staff. Composition skills sufficient to prepare required reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Offince, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe. Valid Michigan driver’s license. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.

In consultation with the Program Director/Coordinator, maintain appointment calendar, responsible for scheduling appointments, meeting and conferences, answering phones, routing of calls and taking messages as appropriate. Open and process all mail directed to the department.
 

2.

Utilize database software to develop, enter, update, retrieve and analyze data including writing and editing queries as appropriate to generate reports. 
 

3.

Compose memorandums, letters, reports, and correspondence.
 

4.

Create media documents, design and update flyers, postcards, brochures, newsletters, and forms using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and Publisher.
 

5.

Provide clerical support to program staff including initial file preparation, appointment scheduling, customer follow-up, typing confidential correspondence, etc. as necessary.
 

6. Develop and maintain directory of routine and important program contacts including Agency name, address, web address, telephone and fax numbers, name and email address of primary contact person(s).

SALARY AND RELATED:

Salary is based on experience and training. Benefits package is available after 90 days of employment.
