ANNOUNCEMENT OF STAFF OPENING

FOR

INFORMATION/BILLING TECHNICIAN/ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

J VS announces a staff opening for a full time Information/Billing Technician/Administrative Support ( 35 hours per week) in its Clerical department located at the Arnold E. Frank building in Detroit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

H igh school diploma or equivalency required, two years of college in human service and/or business preferred. Two or more years related experience in administrative support. Type a minimum of 55+ wpm. Experience in working in the mental health system especially as it relates to case records and annual paperwork requirements preferred. Experience with EZClaim software, Medicaid billings, cash posting and reconciliation preferred. One year related experience with database and experience with creating and formula writing in spreadsheet software preferred. Ability to relate to urban disadvantaged adults required. Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with participants, public and all levels of staff. Composition skills sufficient to prepare communications and required reports. Reasoning and language skills as measured by Agency norm tests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1.

On a month basis, initiate Annual Assessment packets to case coordinators for all SEP, SBA and SC clients according to annual PCP date. Audit, log and file documentation received ensuring that it is forwarded to guardians for signature and supports coordination agencies as appropriate. Perform case record review for all clients in SEP and SC, based on PCP date.
 

2.

Forward signed VGS, NVGS and PCP documentation to billing department for request of program authorization.  
 

3.

Perform data entry into Central Records, Detroit database and MH-Win for consumers receiving SEP, SBA, SC and related services. Run queries as necessary and/or requested.
 

4.

Gather, maintain, and record statistics of consumer activity ensuring that data generated for reporting is accurate across all report formats.
 

5.

Provide confidential clerical assistance/administrative support to Vice President, Rehabilitation and Training and others as assigned.
 

6.

Maintain facility original forms for all programs, updating packets as required.
 

7.

Take, transcribe and distribute minutes for all Supervisory meetings.
 

8.

Process incoming and outgoing US mail on a daily basis and handle requests for additional postage as appropriate. Coordinate service needs with Pitney Bowes support as needed.
 

9.

Operate switchboard as regular relief and back up operator as needed.
 
Under the direction of the Billing Coordinator:
 

1.

Ensure that re-authorizations are obtained with sufficient time to ensure continued ability to bill for provided services.
 

2.

Using EZClaim Software, prepare program billings utilizing documentation from Detroit Database.
 

3.

Post Explanation of Benefits to ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts receivable with payments received.
 

Supplemental Duties:
 

1.

Type letters, reports and resumes as needed.
 

2.

Perform general clerical functions of copying and mail distribution.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1.

Work involves sitting for up to 75% of work time.
  
2.Considerable bending and stooping to file and operate copier.
  
3.Ability to move quickly between phone consoles, copier/printer, fax and file cabinets.
  
4. Work involves the ability to work flexible hours including evenings.
 
5. Ability to regularly lift 10-15 lbs. with periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.

SALARY AND RELATED:

Salary is based on experience. Benefits include a Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO or HMO for individual coverage. Family coverage is available under a premium-sharing plan. Option is available to substitute $1,560 per year in lieu of health insurance. Other benefits include vacation, sick leave, life insurance, long-term disability, and retirement when eligibility requirements are met.
